Bandits outfielder Chase Goodnight had two hits and three RBI’s in Thursday’s narrow loss to Blue Valley West. Goodnight had a double and a single in the contest.

Chase Goodnight had three RBI’s for the Oklahoma Bandits on Thursday in the Winget Tournament, but it was not enough to get a victory as they dropped a 7-6 decision to Blue Valley West.

Goodnight finished the game 2-for-4 with a single and a double.

Blue Valley West took the early lead as they scored two runs in the first inning off Bandits starter Bo Adams.

Adams pitched five innings and allowed five runs. He finished with two strikeouts.

Oklahoma did not take much time cutting into the deficit as they put up a run of their own in the bottom of the first. Goodnight had his first RBI of the game on a groundout to score Matt Crawley, who had scored on a triple.

Crawley went 2-for-3 in Thursday’s game with two runs scored.

After Blue Valley West pushed their lead back to two runs in the top of the second, the Bandits cut the deficit to 3-2 in their half of the inning when Adams scored on a passed ball. He had reached base on a fielder’s choice.

Blue Valley West put two more runs in the top of the third to push their lead back to 5-2.

Both teams then went scoreless until the sixth when the Bandits scored two runs to come within a run at 5-4.

Shane Wesley and Crawley reached on singles, and then Goodnight hit a two-RBI double.

After Blue Valley West scored one run in the sixth and seventh inning, the Bandits attempted to rally in the bottom of the seventh.

With the bases loaded, Shay Richhart and Crawley drew back-to-back RBI walks to close the deficit to 7-6. Goodnight then came up and struck a sharply hit line drive to center field that was fielded by the Blue Valley West centerfielder for the final out of the game.

Jarrett Travis led the Bandits from the plate as he went 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Shane Wesley added two singles and Steven Chuculate added a hit for Oklahoma.

With the loss, the Bandits fall to 6-14 on the season.

Their next game is Friday when they take on Springfield Kickapoo at 11:15 a.m. in Bartlesville.
