Following a narrow 8-0 loss to Warner last week that eliminated Hulbert from playoff contention, the Riders plan to end the season right against Savanna Friday in their season finale in Hulbert.
After a season of tough fought games, Hulbert sits with a record of 3-6 overall and 1-4 within the district. Injuries have heavily affected Hulbert's offense and defense, but Jonathon Jones has done his best as the quarterback of this team to keep them competitive.
Alongside Jones, Daniel Hair has been having to step up and take more snaps as the teams running back after James Bruce went down for the season. The two of them hope to lead the Riders to a home victory on their school's senior night.
Savanna is coming off of a 39-7 loss to Gore and also hopes to bounce back to keep their playoff dreams alive. They are currently sitting at an even 4-4 on the season and 3-2 within the district.
Ty Hoffman, Wide Receiver, has been a force to be reckoned with this season. Standing at 6 feet and 3 inches, it takes a very talented defensive back to slow him down.
Savanna has a better record than Hulbert on the season, but Hulbert has Savanna beat in points per game, where Hulbert is averaging 19.5 to Savanna's 14.5. Hulbert has also scored a total of 60 more points than Savanna on the season, but they have also played one more game than Savanna
The game will take place at 7 p.m. at Hulbert on Friday, Nov. 8. The forecast calls for clear skies, but temperatures in the 30s.
