The Gore Pirates defeated the Hulbert Riders 11-1 in the first game of the District Tournament at Gore.  The Riders could only muster three hits off a Connors State College signee, Josh Caudle.  Justin Farmer had a double in the first inning, but was picked off trying to advance to third base.  Caudle then recorded six straight outs, striking out five of the six batters he faced.  The Riders got their other two hits in the fourth inning as Chase Johnson led off the fourth with a solo home run to right field, the only run the Riders would score in the game.  After a Farmer ground out, Cody Thurman got the other Rider hit, a single.  Thurman was picked off trying to steal second.  Caudle struck out the next four Rider batters for the win. 

Johnson was the starting and losing pitcher in the game, facing 12 batters in 1 2/3 innings.  Johnson allowed the Pirates five hits and had six runs scored against him.  Only three of the runs were earned.   Johnson finished the game with one strikeout.  Thurman finished the game facing 18 batters, pitching  3 1/3 innings.  Thurman had allowed the Pirates five hits and had five runs scored against him, all of which were earned.  He had one walk, one wild pitch, and hit one batter while on the mound.  Caudle, the winning pitcher of the game for the Pirates, pitched the full five innings, facing 16 batters.  He allowed the Riders three hits, one earned run, which was Johnson's homer.  Caudle walked one batter and had nine strikeouts for the Gore Pirates.  

In the second game of the night, the Gore Pirates sent 27 batters to the plate in the second inning and scored 22 runs in the 28-0 win over the Hulbert Riders.  Scott Carmichael of the Pirates had two home runs in the inning, the first being a grand slam and the second being a solo for five RBI.  Jeremy McElhaney also had a two-run homer in the inning for Gore.  

The Riders did get off to a quick start in the game as Farmer led off with a single, but was picked off trying to steal second base.  Farmer was the starting and losing pitcher for the Riders, facing nine batters in 2/3 of an inning.  Bryan Powers finished the inning, facing three batters, ending the inning with a strike out.  Chad Honeycutt finished the game for the Riders, ending with one strikeout.  Jordan Andrews another Connors State College signee was the winning pitcher of the game for Gore, with two strikeouts.  

The losses ended the Rider baseball season with a 6-13 record.
