The Keys Lady Cougars attended the Roland Festival Saturday where the team won one out of three games, which makes the Lady Cougar Record now 5-5.

Britney Drywater pitched every game of the festival to catcher Caitlin Ratliff as she increased her pitching record to 5-4.

Keys won its first game against Roland where Lady Cougar pitcher Drywater threw only one hit in the game.

Keys’ Megan Alsenay hit 2-for-3 with one home run and 4 RBIs. Micah Henry hit 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Amanda Walker was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

In the Lady Cougars’ second game they took on Sallisaw, where they lost a close one that went through nine innings of softball.

Sallisaw took a 4-2 lead after one inning and then the score was 5-5 after two innings. Keys took the lead with four runs to Roland’s two runs in the third inning. Keys scored another two points in the fourth inning and prevented Roland from scoring which made the score 11-7, Keys.

Roland scored two in the fifth inning and there were no runs for Keys. Keys scored one run per inning for the last four innings of the game but it was Roland who pulled away as they scored three runs in the ninth inning, winning the game.

For the Lady Cougars, Alsenay hit 5-for-5 with 3 RBIs, Ratliff hit 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs, and Drywater went 2-for-5 with a home run and RBIs.

In the final game of the day the Lady Cougars played another close one against Muldrow where the final score of the game was 5-6, Muldrow.

Alsenay hit 2-for-3 in this game with one home run and 4 RBIs, Henry went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Walker hit 2-for-3 with two RBIs as well.

The Lady Cougars welcome Okay to Keys Monday, games start at 4 p.m.
