KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jaxon Phipps highlighted three All-MIAA baseball selections for Northeastern State on Wednesday afternoon.
Phipps is a Second Team honoree at second base for the RiverHawks after batting .288 and driving in 31 runs as a junior. The Nocona, Texas native was named to the league's Honorable Mention list a season ago.
After recording NSU's first 60 hit season in three years, freshman Blake Freeman is on the Honorable Mention list. Freeman had 61 hits and batted .343 while playing 41 of the RiverHawks' 49 games.
Colton Burgess joined Freeman as an Honorable Mention selection after clubbing nine homers and reaching base at a .474 clip, which was third best in the MIAA.
Central Missouri's Erik Webb was voted the MIAA Player of the Year, Missouri Southern's Zach Parish was named the Pitcher of the Year, Dexter Swims (Missouri Southern) was selected the Freshman of the Year, and Missouri Southern's Bryce Darnell was picked Coach of the Year.
The RiverHawks went 12-37 overall and 9-24 in MIAA play under head coach Jake Hendrick.
